The following is a list of awards and decorations given to our pilots to recognize meritorious achievement, bravery and sacrifice in battle, and extraordinary service to the JG2, and the Axis Community at large. You will also find the prerequisite requirements for the awarding of any given decoration.
Kill Credit Points System
As was the case with our historical counter parts, our scoring system is rational, realistic, and impartial. All pilots must provide proof and/or a witness for every kill to be credited, either through a screen shot, GunCam footage, etc. No Proof, No Credit. All kills are tallied and ratified by a flyers immediate superior officer. This kind of inflexibility reinforces the honor in our achievements, and assures that no one can make false claims for the purposes of garnering awards.
Historically, the luftwaffe did not award its pilots on the number of kills they garnered alone. Instead, a points system was used that allotted priority to more valuable targets. We award our pilots in a similar fashion, all be it with adjusted totals to compensate for the unrealistic attrition found in a "virtual war." Pilots take unnecessary risks when their life isn't on the line... and scoring a kill is not as uncommon as it was in real life.

Iron Cross 2nd Class The Iron Cross is perhaps the best known and historically rich German award. Its tradition dates back to 1813, when King Friedrich Wilheim III of Prussia first instituted the award during the War of Liberation against Napoleon.
As per Jagdgeschwader 2 regulations, the Iron Cross 2nd Class is awarded to pilots who have accumulated 10 points of victories over the enemy.
10
Iron Cross 1st Class Historically, Luftwaffe pilots earned the Iron Cross 1st Class when they achieved six or seven confirmed kills. Of course these were only guidelines, and a single act of great importance or a long steady career could earn the individual the Cross.
As per Jagegeschwader 2 regulations, the Iron Cross 2nd Class is awarded when a member has earned up to 70 points while serving in our geschwader.
70
German Cross in Gold The German Cross in Gold had as its objective the recognition of repeated acts of bravery or exceptional command not justifying the award of the Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross, but superior to requirements for award of the Iron Cross 1st Class. As per Jagdgeschwader 2 regulations, the German Cross in Gold is awarded to members that have accumulated 300 points while serving with the geschwader.
300
Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross In September of 1939, the Knights Cross to the Iron Cross was created to bridge the sizable gap that had existed between the Iron Cross 1st Class and the Grand Cross. An unprecedented grade of the Iron Cross, the Knights Cross could be distributed to all ranks, yet all recipients would remain part of an exclusive and elite group. As the war went into its second year, new grades, each increasingly more distinguished, began to be introduced. At the time all grades of the Knights Cross had enormous propaganda power as the highest award the Third Reich had to offer its armed forces. As per Jagdgeschwader 2 regulations, the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross is awarded to outstanding members that have accumulated a total of 450 points while serving the geschwader and the axis community.
450
Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oakleaves During the Western campaigns it became apparent that a new grade would be needed to further distinguish those who had received the highest grade of the Iron Cross. On June 3rd, 1940 Hitler introduced the Oak leaves to the Knights Cross. The award was to be worn above the Cross, in the place where one would normally see the ribbon loop. As per Jagdgeschwader 2 regulations, the Oakleaves to the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross are awarded to players that have demonstrated outstanding courage and leadership, accumulating 1000 points while in service of the geschwader.
1000
Note - Unlike their allied counterparts, German decorations were progressive... i.e., the previous award is a prerequisite for the next.

Honor Goblet Established in February 1940, the Ehrenpokal was awarded by the authority of Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring to Luftwaffe personnel "for special achievement in the airwar". This was an award for aircrew only. Funding for the production of the goblet was provided by the German Aviation Industry. We of the JG2 award the esteemed Honor Goblet to pilots that have earned 100 victories over enemy aircraft.
The Simmons Award The Richard Simmons award is possibly the greatest joke honor to be received by a JG2 member.
Those bestowed upon such an award as this have demonstrated extreme n00bishness, are typical forum junkies, and have identified themselves as the best of the best in stat wh0ring.
